"This Chloé cape is perfect for New York. I can layer it with dressier pieces when there isn't time to change between more casual daytime shows and formal dinners. Practical yet chic - it's all about those versatile pieces that work 24/7."
Jeannie Lee, womenswear buying manager
"I'll be wearing this Vetements x Mackintosh trench during Paris Fashion Week. The British brand is one of 18 labels to collaborate with Vetements for SS17. With its voluminous sleeves, zip detailing and plaid insert, I love how the classic trench has been given an unexpected update. J'adore!"
Heather Gramston, womenswear buying manager
"In my opinion, you can never have enough pleats! For cool schoolgirl chic, Le Kilt is one of my favourites. This calf-leather cow print adds a fun twist to the classic kilt - ideal for making a statement at London Fashion Week. I'll wear mine with crisp white pointelle socks and a chunky knit."
Thea Jones, Contemporary buyer
"I want to be a Mimi Wade girl every season. She epitomises eclectic London, and I'm hyped to see her first catwalk show at fashion week. This dress is perfect for running between the shows - worn with trainers, of course."
Ruth Hickman, Designer Studio buyer
"As much as I love a statement mini bag, an everyday carryall is a fashion week must-have. With its clever expandable design, the Loewe Hammock bag is roomy enough for all my essentials, while the architectural shape and vertical zips give it a modern twist. And when it comes to bags, tan is the new black, so this style ticks all the boxes."
Josie Gardner, accessories buying manager
"At London Fashion Week, I usually have my mobile phone glued to my ear or my hand while taking Instagram snaps. I love this fun fuzzy pill design by Chaos. Charlotte Stockdale and Katie Lyall's accessories collection is super playful and colourful - great for dreary London days."
Poppy Lomax, denim buyer
"This is my standout coat of the season. The frills, gold buttons and velvet collar are girly and fun, but it's also super practical - ideal for the sub-zero temperatures in Milan. Plus, it's by Gucci - need I say more?"
Olivia Le Roux, Designerwear buyer
"Fashion week basically involves rushing from shows to appointments so comfort is key - which is why trousers are always top of my packing list. This season it's all about making a statement, and this pair from Vilshenko does that with effortless ease. I love the flared silhouette and subtle clover print - perfect with loafers and an oversized knit."
Olivia McEwan, Designerwear buyer
"Simone's beautiful tulle dress is perfect for fashion week. I love the ruffled sleeves, lace trim and delicate layers; it's feminine and grungy at the same time - ideal for London. I can wear it with trainers and a long-sleeved tee during the day and throw on some heels at night."
Philippa Holden, Designerwear buyer
This fashion week circuit is set to see an unlikely must-have accessory – the white bandana - after the Business of Fashion has launched a movement called #TiedTogether. The publication’s founder Imran Amed is urging people to "wear a white bandana as a sign to the world that you believe in the common bonds of humankind - regardless of race, sexuality, gender or religion." Gigi Hadid led the charge on the Tommy Hilfiger catwalk, where the bandana was sported by models and showgoers alike. Now that's what we call a fashion statement.
